Chapter 7
byChapter 7
I Want to Farm
Han Yan didn’t want the situation to escalate. Biting her lip, she called out, "Sis," then walked off without looking back.
Seeing Han Yan like this, Zhang Xiaofeng sighed and explained, "Nan Nan, A Hang isn’t involved with her. Though they’ve known each other since childhood, and her family once proposed a marriage alliance, she... wasn’t suitable for A Hang, so we turned them down politely. That’s why she nurses resentment and acted that way. Please don’t misunderstand!"
"I won’t. Lu Hang didn’t even look her way!" Lin Nannan said with satisfaction.
Lu Hang, who was utterly bewildered, met Lin Nannan’s smiling face and felt oddly praised.
But what could a cripple like him possibly be praised for?
Zhang Xiaofeng was momentarily stunned. She truly hadn’t expected Lin Nannan not to disdain her son but even praise him, which filled her with joy. She immediately smiled and said, "Nan Nan, chat with A Hang awhile. When the banquet starts, I’ll have A Yuan come get you."
Lu Yuan, who was still processing the scene, was dragged out by her mother.
Lin Nannan showed not a hint of embarrassment. Instead, she stared at Lu Hang’s body, making him squirm, afraid she might suddenly pick him up again out of the blue.
"The banquet will start soon. There’s good food today—you should go," Lu Hang said, just wanting her gone.
Thinking about her plans, Lin Nannan nodded in agreement. "A full belly means more strength. Don’t worry, I’ve got strength to spare!"
Lu Hang was clueless about her meaning, only wanting to send her away.
But when the banquet ended and Lin Nannan returned to the room, she demanded to share the bed with him and went straight for his clothes. Only then did he understand what she meant by being strong...
...
The Lu family’s wedding banquet went off without a hitch. No matter what thoughts the guests harbored, nobody dared stir trouble, and the event concluded without incident.
After the guests left, Zhang Xiaofeng introduced Lin Nannan to the rest of the Lu family, and she received small gifts to welcome her.
"I can take care of Lu Hang, but you must agree to one condition," Lin Nannan said straightforwardly, noticing their willingness.
The Lu family was puzzled but didn’t expect her to make any unreasonable demands...
"Let’s hear it!" Grandma Lu said encouragingly, her gaze softening now that she knew Lin Nannan’s strength could ensure her grandson’s care.
"I want to farm—land that belongs solely to me, with no interference from anyone else," she put it plainly.
The Lu family was flabbergasted. They had expected her to make some lofty demand, but her request was entirely unexpected.
Grandma Lu collected herself and said, "Fine. The family land isn’t your concern. Just focus on taking care of A Hang."
"That’s right, we’ll treat you right," Zhang Xiaofeng quickly added.
She now greatly valued Lin Nannan’s strength, as caring for her tall son was no easy task.
Lin Nannan scanned their faces, sensing their genuine goodwill—perhaps tinged with guilt—which aligned perfectly with her goal.
"My condition for taking care of Lu Hang is that I must farm, and I alone will have full control over it," she reiterated.
The Lu family exchanged glances. Though curious, they refrained from discussing it in front of her. However, this was no major issue for the family, and Grandma Lu promptly agreed.
"Fine. I’ll set aside two adjoining acres for you. Whatever you grow there will belong to you and A Hang. Is that acceptable?" Grandma Lu asked directly.
