Chapter 58
byChapter 58
A Fight Breaks Out
"Of course it's you, A Tao!" A Lin said without thinking, and the atmosphere instantly froze.
A Qin, who had been clinging to A Lin moments ago, let go of his arm. Her furious gaze landed on the pale-faced girl beside him, sensing something was off between them. Just as she was about to confront him, Lin Nannan cut in...
"Brother A Lin, am I not better than A Qin? Why did you marry her?"
"A Tao, in my heart, you're the best. I married her out of necessity—she has influential relatives. I need their help to leave the village. Be patient, and once I make it big, I’ll take you with me..."
As Lin Nannan spoke, she switched flawlessly between their voices, making everyone feel like they were there.
Then they understood—she was acting out the secret affair between these two.
"Then you’re not allowed to be nice to A Qin!"
"Of course not. Oh, my sweetheart, don’t scratch me and leave marks. If A Qin finds out, we’ll both be in serious trouble."
No matter how terrifying A Lin’s glare was, Lin Nannan didn’t bat an eye, repeating every word exactly. Then, turning to A Qin, she said, "See? The one stealing from you isn’t me. You’re blaming the wrong person."
Those words hit A Qin like a knife to the heart.
She had been so proud of marrying A Lin, boasting about it forever in the village. Never had she imagined he would betray her with A Tao, admitting it was all a calculated move and that he felt nothing for her. How could she take such an insult?
"A Qin," A Lin hurriedly pleaded with the enraged woman, "She’s just crazy. You’d believe her over me?"
Before A Qin could respond, Lin Nannan cut in, "A Tao, don’t worry, I’ll always treat you well. You’re my one and only!"
"Lin Nannan!" A Lin roared, his eyes wild with rage.
His frenzied outburst frightened the women around him, but Lin Nannan didn’t flinch.
"Did I say something wrong?" Lin Nannan tilted her head. "Unlike your nonsense, everything I said is the truth!"
A Qin, who had been wavering, took one look at A Tao’s ashen face and knew Lin Nannan was right.
Letting out a bitter laugh through her anger, she demanded, "Even if they were together, they wouldn’t do it in front of you. How did you know?"
Lin Nannan grinned. "Because they were afraid of getting caught, so they sneaked off to the mountains. Everyone knows the back hill is my territory. I’ve caught them not once, not twice... Hmm, the earliest was probably two years ago? Oh, right—when they were gossiping about how the mole on your body wasn’t as pretty as the one on her butt."
Nothing could have cut deeper. A Qin snapped completely.
She and A Lin had gotten together two years ago but only married last year...
Meaning A Tao had been sneaking around with A Lin even before their wedding.
At that realization, A Qin’s last bit of restraint disappeared. She lunged at A Lin, clawing his face before he could react. His pained scream made A Tao rush to his defense, only for A Qin to slap her hard. The two women were at each other’s throats...
"Stop fighting!" People shouted in alarm, trying to intervene.
Meanwhile, Lin Nannan stood grinning, her eyes shining with pure glee.
But now, no one dared utter a single word to her. It had finally sunk in—just how terrifying Lin Nannan could be.
