Chapter 599

An Examination
Lin Nannan understood the implication, so she didn’t bring it up at first. Instead, she waited until everyone was done with their work before stating the purpose of her return. She then looked at Lu Zheng and Pan Xiaoping and said, “Second Uncle, Second Aunt, could you please talk to Lu Ming about this and let him decide for himself? Don’t make him come back or take it, okay?”
Lu Zheng and Pan Xiaoping, who had initially been overjoyed at the thought of their son’s future improving, were suddenly unsure upon hearing Nan Nan’s words.
“Why?” Pan Xiaoping asked hesitantly.
“Second Aunt, Nan Nan is worried that A Ming might have his own interests. What if he doesn't like having things decided for him? If you force him to return, he might be unhappy about it. Let him decide for himself so that he can put his heart into whatever he chooses to do,” Lu Hang quickly explained, fearing that his aunt might misunderstand.
Old Grandma Lu and the others nodded in agreement. “A Hang is right. This matter should be up to what A Ming likes. If he doesn’t like it, you can’t force him.”
Lu Zheng and Pan Xiaoping exchanged glances, realizing that pushing him might cause A Ming to resent Nan Nan and the others, potentially hurting the family's feelings. In the end, both agreed.
Better to let the child choose his own path!
After the discussion, it was already late. Lin Nannan gave Lu Dudu a bath and put her straight to bed.
Lu Dudu, who didn't often get to sleep with Mom and Dad, was too excited to fall asleep. She kept blinking her eyes, and nothing they did could settle her down. In the end, Lin Nannan and Lu Hang pretended to be asleep, finally tricking her into drifting off.
The faint snoring assured them that the energetic little one had finally fallen asleep.
They opened their eyes, exchanged a glance, and then looked at the little one with her tiny fists slightly clenched, and couldn't help smiling.
“She hasn’t had a single quiet moment all day!” Lu Hang sighed, giving her little hand a gentle squeeze.
Lin Nannan patted him and warned, “If you wake her up, you’re on duty tonight!”
Lu Hang quickly pulled back.
“Honey, I want to hold you while we sleep,” he said, instantly going from doting dad to attentive husband.
Lin Nannan rolled her eyes but didn’t refuse. Together, they shifted their daughter closer to the wall, leaving Lin Nannan in the middle.
In an instant, Lu Dudu, who had been the center of attention, became the little one sleeping by the wall, with her own blanket.
Lu Hang held his wife in his arms and frowned. “Have you lost weight again?”
Feeling his hands starting to wander, Lin Nannan gritted her teeth and said, “You should ask Chef Ma that!”
With the way he kept feeding her every day, she'd be lucky to have lost weight.
“Was I wrong?” Lu Hang said with a suggestive tone. “Then let me check properly…”
Lin Nannan was speechless. This man really had thick skin.
Both had been busy with their own lives, and opportunities to be together were rare. Now that they had the chance, neither wanted to waste it.
...
Afterward, Lu Hang brought in the prepared water. They cleaned up and lay back down, snuggling together as they discussed their daughter’s name.
“Do you want to follow the Lu family’s generational naming tradition, or choose a name you like?” Lu Hang left the naming rights to Lin Nannan.
After thinking for a moment, Lin Nannan said, “I think we can follow the Lu family’s tradition. Grandma or Dad could also help choose the name.”
“Don’t you want to choose it yourself?” Lu Hang asked, somewhat surprised.
“I think they would appreciate it more. The names in your family are all quite nice!” Lin Nannan praised.
