Since Lu Hang couldn’t personally investigate without drawing attention, he sent a comrade with a less recognizable face to discreetly gather intelligence.

Lu Hua cooperated fully, pretending to divulge whatever was asked, making them believe she was cooperating willingly.

She spoke openly about surface-level matters—after all, the perpetrators couldn’t enter, so even if they wanted to cause trouble, they had no means to do so. Thus, everything Lu Hua said was true, which led the captors to set their sights on the adorable Lu Dudu.

They believed that only by controlling Lu Dudu could they effectively threaten Lu Hang and Lin Nannan.

Regarding the demands, Lu Hang told everything he knew.

There was no way Lu Hua would kidnap Lu Dudu to save Jiang Wang—doing so would be suicidal and might even endanger both her and Lu Dudu. She wasn’t foolish enough to attempt such a thing. So, once the captors made their intentions clear, she immediately laid it all out to Lu Hang.

“They’re dreaming if they think I’ll hand over Lu Dudu!” Lu Hua said mockingly after explaining the situation.

The rest of the Lu family was just as angry. Zhou Cuiwei even cursed a few times, clearly fuming.

“You’ve done well!” she praised Lu Hua sincerely. “You understood their malicious intentions and chose to bring it to your family. That’s the right way to save someone—unlike those who think they’re clever enough to handle it alone, only to end up trusting criminals and harming both themselves and their loved ones.”

Such tragedies had happened before, and Zhou Cuiwei had always found them absurd. Seeing Lu Hua’s approach, she felt some people weren’t as wise as this illiterate woman.

“Hehe,” Lu Hua scratched her head sheepishly. “I just trust A Hang. With him around, any problem can be solved!”

Lu Hang, tasked with this heavy responsibility, assured her, “Don’t worry, Aunt. We’ve already got some leads on Uncle’s whereabouts. I can’t show myself for fear of alerting them, but if you can buy us a few more days, I’m confident we’ll find him.”

In truth, the information she’d shared earlier was of no real use—since the captors couldn’t enter, whatever she said was irrelevant. They assumed she was cooperating out of fear for Jiang Wang’s safety, never imagining she had already told Lu Hang everything and was plotting to take them down.

Mu Yunzhe didn’t intervene in the matter. He simply listened quietly, admiring Lu Hua’s cleverness.

If it were him, he’d probably be too timid to speak so boldly.

Unaware of Mu Yunzhe’s admiration, Lu Hua discussed the plan with Lu Hang before returning to the captors. She explained to them that Lu Dudu was the Lu family’s treasure—even as a family member, she couldn’t easily take the child out, since there were many others in the household who doted on her, and she wouldn’t be able to sneak her out unnoticed…

She fervently promised to deliver the child, begging them not to harm her husband. She even threatened to fight them to the death if anything happened to Jiang Wang.

Knowing Lu Hang had already set things in motion, Lu Hua played her part perfectly. She didn’t inquire about Jiang Wang’s whereabouts, acting terrified and begging, “Please don’t hurt him! My children are still young—they can’t lose their father. I… I’ll bring Lu Hang’s daughter tomorrow. After all, this mess was caused by Lin Nannan—it has nothing to do with us!”

“If you see it that way, you’re right. It was Lin Nannan’s fault. Using her daughter to exchange for your husband isn’t wrong—no one can blame you,” they laughed, pleased with her attitude.

“I… I’ll go tomorrow!” Lu Hua promised.

They completely trusted Lu Hua, believing that controlling Jiang Wang was enough. They let their guard down, never suspecting a thing—until late that night, when they were ambushed and captured.

They never imagined Lu Hua would jeopardize her husband’s safety. Jiang Wang had been beaten and locked in the backyard but hadn’t been transferred to another location.

The men arranged by Lu Hang observed that the people remained inactive in the yard, with no signs of food deliveries. They also noticed that the amount of food purchased didn't match the number of people present. Although men tend to have larger appetites, the extra portions were still noticeable, especially since the group had ordered an extra serving when buying food. This made them certain that Jiang Wang was being held inside.

Knowing that Lu Hua had been stalling for days and that further delay might raise suspicions, Lu Hang immediately made arrangements for a rescue operation late that night.

The captors were caught while sound asleep, grabbed before they could even straighten their clothes, some even half-dressed.

Lu Hua insisted on staying to witness the operation, watching secretly from the shadows with her hand clamped over her mouth to avoid making any noise that could jeopardize the plan.

When she saw Jiang Wang being helped out and the disheveled captors being apprehended, her suppressed rage erupted. She lunged at them, lashing out—hitting, scratching, and clawing with her bare hands, doing whatever felt satisfying in the moment. Soon, curses and howls of pain echoed from the captors, the sounds so intense that even the injured Jiang Wang twitched an ear in reaction...

After a moment, Lu Hang emerged from the darkness and restrained the enraged Lu Hua, saying, "Aunt, that's enough!"

Having vented her fury, the disheveled Lu Hua smoothed her hair and replied cheerfully, "Alright, I’ll stop now!"

Her mood lifted considerably after releasing her pent-up anger.

The captors, however, were left battered and barely recognizable. Unable to fight back while restrained, they could only try to evade her blows, letting Lu Hua go at them as much as she wanted.

"Ah Wang, how are you? Where did they hurt you?" Only then remembering her husband, Lu Hua turned and asked urgently.

Seeing the captors’ miserable state, Jiang Wang felt a surge of satisfaction and complained to his wife, "They beat me—my back is all sore!"

Hearing this, Lu Hua immediately lifted his shirt and saw that the injuries on his back were pretty bad. Instantly, she regretted not hitting the captors even more.

"Aunt, let’s get Uncle to the hospital first," Lu Hang reminded her, to keep her from getting too caught up and wanting to deliver another round of punishment.

With Jiang Wang found and her anger vented, Lu Hua agreed without hesitation.

Under the protection of others, the two headed straight for the hospital, while Lu Hang stayed behind to clean up the mess.
