Apology

The next day, after the men had gone out, the women gathered together to talk. When they learned that it was Lin Nannan who had beaten their husbands, they exchanged bewildered looks. Some even felt relieved that Lin Nannan hadn’t turned her anger on them earlier—one punch from her would've been all it took.

When Lin Nannan came downstairs with Lu Dudu, she was met with a collective stare from the group, but she remained unfazed, with no intention of dealing with them.

This time, it was Liu Amei and the others who couldn’t hold back, not Lin Nannan.

She said coldly to the person blocking her way, “What is it?”

“Lin Nannan, did you beat them up on purpose?” Liu Amei demanded angrily.

Lin Nannan raised an eyebrow. “On purpose? What do you mean?”

“You beat up my husband! He’s in pain all over every day, and no ointment seems to help. How could you be so vicious?” Liu Amei accused.

“Beat him up? It was just training/sparring. We used to do this back in the military. Besides, everyone else says it’s beneficial. Why are you the only ones complaining? Do you have a problem with me?” Lin Nannan had learned to turn the tables, and she found it quite effective—it was rather satisfying to leave them speechless.

Liu Amei was left speechless, and could only watch helplessly as Lin Nannan walked away.

“Do you think she’ll do it again today?” someone murmured.

No one answered. They were certain Lin Nannan would.

“If this keeps up, my husband won’t be able to take it anymore. Last night, he was moaning in pain even in his sleep. What are we supposed to do?” someone worried aloud.

No one dared to respond. They were afraid that if they confronted Lin Nannan, they would be the next ones getting beaten.

As usual, Lin Nannan went through her routine, leaving a group of men lying on the ground before happily walking off with her daughter, to the beaten men's dismay.

“We didn’t even offend her. Why is she picking on us specifically?” someone finally noticed something was off. While others seemed to become more energetic from the sparring, feeling younger and more vigorous, they were the only ones suffering sleepless nights and losing strength.

Qian Jun and the others noticed this too but had no idea why, as they had never had any conflicts with Lin Nannan…

Once they realized something was wrong, they began asking around and investigating. Eventually, they learned from their comrades about what their wives had done, and their homes nearly descended into chaos.

Lin Nannan, living on the second floor, heard the commotion downstairs but didn’t even blink.

This is just the beginning. She needed a break now, but whether she would continue after Lu Hang returned was another matter.

If they couldn’t keep their wives in line, a little suffering wasn't unreasonable, was it?

The next morning, as Lin Nannan came downstairs with Lu Dudu as usual, she saw the military wives who should have been busy instead standing there nervously hesitant, watching her. Clearly, the tongue-lashing they'd gotten the night before had some effect.

At least some of them were here to apologize.
