Lu Hang hesitated for a moment before saying, "Nan Nan, go scout things out tomorrow to see if they're safe—if it’s just me under surveillance or if they’re all being watched too!"

"You know where they are?" Lin Nannan asked in surprise.

"Not sure, but before we separated, we set up a meeting spot. But if they hit trouble, they likely wouldn’t stick around there," he analyzed.

Lin Nannan understood. "So you stayed put because you were afraid they might not be there, and also because you’d be spotted if you went out yourself?"

"Mm," Lu Hang admitted without hiding anything, indicating that now wasn’t the time to force a fight.

His answer made Lin Nannan blurt out, "Whoever’s behind this has you completely figured out. Honestly, I feel like they understand you better than I do!"

Hearing her words, Lu Hang narrowed his eyes but didn’t deny it. Instead, he drifted into deep thought, his expression unusually serious...

"Got something?" She poked his arm and asked quietly.

"What if they don’t really know me?" Lu Hang looked at her and asked earnestly.

Lin Nannan was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Lu Hang explained, "I only follow orders—my missions dictate my moves. Yet someone knows my every move. So who else, besides military insiders, could know all this?"

"Who?" The question made her head spin, as she wasn’t very familiar with these matters.

With a faint smile, Lu Hang reached out and mussed her hair. "Nan Nan, I finally cracked the case that’s been bugging me!"

Lin Nannan was baffled by his words and pressed, "What did you figure out? Tell me!"

Lu Hang chuckled. "I’ll tell you after you find Zhang Shengguo."

"So cryptic, as usual," she muttered, not pushing further since he didn’t want to say. Instead, she frowned and asked uncertainly, "You really trust them?"

"Absolutely. They’re my brothers—I’d trust them with my life," he declared firmly.

Seeing his conviction, Lin Nannan let it go. Even if there were issues, as long as Lu Hang recovered, they could still retreat safely...

As she walked, she observed her surroundings. To anyone watching, she looked like some wide-eyed tourist marveling at everything, but in reality, Lin Nannan was scanning the pharmacies along the road. Seeing guards stationed at each one gave her chills—she knew she’d come just in time.

Without her, Lu Hang would’ve been screwed. If his wound got infected, his condition would only worsen. Even if he managed to break out, seeking medicine at a pharmacy would’ve been walking straight into a trap. Whoever was pulling the strings had thought of everything!

The thought made Lin Nannan even more eager for Lu Hang’s counterattack.

Being new in town, she flew under the radar. No one recognized her, so her journey went smoothly.

She didn’t hesitate, knocking on the door of a courtyard. After waiting for a while, the door opened, and the person inside widened their eyes upon seeing her.

"Not welcome?" Lin Nannan asked Zhang Shengguo with a smile.

Zhang Shengguo didn’t say a word, simply stepping aside to let her in before closing the door behind her.

Their place wasn’t as nice as Lu Hang’s. At the sound of movement, several people had even hidden themselves, ready to jump into action if things went south.

But when they saw it was a young woman who entered, some were stunned, while others looked shocked, clearly recognizing Lin Nannan.

"Boss, who’s this?" someone who didn’t know her asked warily.

"Lu Hang’s wife, Lin Nannan!" Zhang Shengguo didn’t hide it, explaining directly before turning to Lin Nannan. "How did you get here? Who came with you? Have you seen Lu Hang? How is he now?"

His rapid, earnest questions made Lin Nannan smile, reassured that Lu Hang’s trust wasn’t misplaced.

"I came alone. Lu Hang is with me now—he’s injured but safe," she explained.

Relieved to hear Lu Hang was okay, Zhang Shengguo pressed, "How bad are his injuries?"

"Not too serious. He’s just been cornered and stuck, so he’s been lying low. I only stumbled upon him by chance," Lin Nannan glossed over her own reckless actions.

"Why is he the only one being targeted?" Zhang Shengguo frowned. "After we got separated, the rest of us made it back one by one, but Lu Hang never showed up. We thought he might’ve been captured and and were planning to investigate. Turns out he was being watched."

Lin Nannan shot Zhang Shengguo a piercing glance before handing him a letter from Lu Hang. "Lu Hang said he’s being watched and can’t move, so he wants you to hit back hard. He’s laid out the plan for you."

Zhang Shengguo snatched it, reading it carefully before clenching his fists.

"I’ll head back now. You’ve got it from here," Lin Nannan said decisively, turning to leave. Zhang Shengguo snapped out of it and stopped her. "Lu Hang’s hurt—let me get you some medicine. He must not have any over there."

Lin Nannan waved him off. "Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered!"

As she left, she pulled the door shut behind her. Zhang Shengguo would’ve thought he was dreaming if not for the letter still in his hand...

"Captain, Lu Hang’s wife is amazing! She actually came to Nan City alone!" someone who didn’t know better praised instinctively, completely unaware that Zhang Shengguo was on the verge of exploding.

Others might not know Lin Nannan’s capabilities, but he did. The thought of her coming to Nan City alone made him grit his teeth. "Who gave us away? Are they insane?"

The others looked at each other, baffled.

Zhang Shengguo couldn’t explain, so he bottled it up, his eyes fixed on the letter—finally finding an outlet for his fury...

Having completed her mission smoothly, Lin Nannan bought groceries and meat, strolling right back into the courtyard under everyone’s noses as if nothing had happened earlier.

Lu Hang was waiting for her at home. The moment she returned, he asked, "Did you see him?"

Lin Nannan nodded. "Yes, and I gave him the letter. He was livid!"

Lu Hang said coldly, "This is only the start. If he can’t handle it now, he’ll snap for sure!"
