Chapter 50

It Can Move
In an instant, several pairs of eyes fixed on Lin Nannan, making her jump.
"Nan Nan, is what A Yuan said true?" Zhang Xiaofeng asked, her voice thick with emotion.
Lin Nannan rubbed her temples, trying to figure out how to explain.
The key component of the automatic wheelchair was one of the few things she had preserved along with the food supplies. She was the only one with voice control over it, which was why she hadn’t intended to use it. But who could have guessed that Lu Ming, that unreliable guy, would blow her cover on day one?
This wasn’t something easily explained...
"Well..." She was about to pick a suitable scapegoat, but before she could finish, Lu Ming rushed over, bouncing with excitement, and said, "Sister-in-law, can you make the wheelchair move on its own?"
If it could stop, naturally it could start. So Lu Ming was now thrilled he hadn’t witnessed such a scene earlier.
Lin Nannan, who hated being in the spotlight, really wanted to refuse. But faced with so many expectant gazes, she found herself unable to say no. Finally, she said softly, "It obeys only me, and that can’t be changed."
Everyone froze, but instead of disappointment, their eyes filled with hope and anticipation. Even Grandma Lu, at her age, looked utterly fascinated. Unable to resist, Lin Nannan added, "01, forward!"
As everyone watched, the wheelchair, which had been still, avoided Lu Ming standing in front of it, turned, and moved forward. The entire Lu family stared in astonishment...
"Ahhh! It really moved, it moved!" Lu Ming yelled, thrilled.
Lu Yuan added, "I told you it could move!"
Though Grandma Lu and the others remained silent, their expressions were just as amazed.
"01, stop!" Seeing that they had all forgotten the original purpose of the wheelchair, Lin Nannan was exasperated.
She stopped the wandering wheelchair and turned to go inside.
Only then did the Lu family realize something, their faces full of hope.
"A Hang hasn’t come out in so long!" Zhang Xiaofeng said, her voice thick with emotion.
They would love for A Hang to come out, even just to get some sun. But given his height, it took several people to carry him outside since he couldn’t use any strength. After realizing how troublesome it was, A Hang simply refused to come out.
Now, this automatic wheelchair was a miracle for A Hang—at least it would allow him to move around and have meals with the family, even if only occasionally.
Thinking of this, Zhang Xiaofeng’s eyes welled up with tears, filled with both hope and worry, afraid that A Hang might still refuse to face going outside.
The man who'd once stood tall now couldn’t even stand or sit up on his own. She feared he might not have the courage to step outside.
A Hang didn’t want to come out. It wasn't that he was ashamed—he just didn’t want to trouble anyone.
Though he had some idea of what Lin Nannan had made from the commotion outside, he didn’t believe it would be of any use. So he repeatedly declined, unwilling to go out.
But was Lin Nannan the type to listen?
No, she never did what she was told!
So when A Hang kept resisting, after exhausting all her persuasive words, she simply hoisted him up and carried him outside, leaving A Hang gaping. By the time he regained his senses, he was already at the doorway in Lin Nannan’s arms.
Though the Lu family had had some warning, the sight of Lin Nannan effortlessly carrying A Hang out still left them completely floored.
