    Chapter 450

    It Was That Simple

Lin Nannan had come prepared for this visit when she informed the Lin family, so she didn’t object and simply nodded in agreement.

Lin Kangnian and Zhao Zhi exchanged a glance, their eyes twinkling with amusement.

The Lin family’s car was so crowded, so the driver had no seat since Lin Kangnian was the one driving, and there was also a bodyguard for Lin Nannan.

The Lin family had long made preparations, cleaning the whole house inside and out in anticipation of Lin Nannan’s arrival.

After learning that Lin Nannan would bring her child, the Lin family had been in a flurry of preparations. Only Lin Kangnian and his wife went to pick her up because the others were still busy.

Lin Nannan’s room wasn’t the one Lin Min had previously stayed in—it had been freshly redecorated with new furnishings. And with Lu Dudu in tow, you can imagine how busy the Lin family had been.

Lin Nannan noticed this as soon as she arrived at the Lin residence, as it was clear they genuinely wanted her back.

However, no matter how much they wished for it, she couldn’t treat them as warmly as she did the Lu family. Instead, she used the child to ease the awkwardness.

The bubbly Lu Dudu instantly stole the spotlight. Everyone in the Lin family adored her, comparing her to Lin Kangnian’s children and complaining how scrawny their own kids were at birth, unlike the plump and adorable Dudu.

This was Lin Nannan’s first time meeting the kids, too.

Previously, due to the sudden circumstances, Lin Nannan had come and left in haste, and the Lin family hadn’t thought of introducing them.

Lin Kangnian and Zhao Zhi had two sons and a daughter—the eldest named Lin Li, the second Lin Xiang, and the youngest, Lin Shuang, who was already five years old. They knew Lin Nannan was their real aunt, and they were especially curious about why she hadn’t been home all this time.

Lin Kangjian’s wife, Feng Xi, had a son named Lin Fei.

Lin Kangsheng’s wife couldn’t make it because of work commitments. He had married late and had a daughter named Lin Youyou, who was staying with her maternal grandparents and hadn’t been brought along.

“Next time there’s a chance, I’ll definitely bring them. It’s just too rushed this time,” Lin Kangsheng explained to Lin Nannan.

“It’s fine. There’ll be plenty of opportunities in the future,” Lin Nannan replied with a smile.

She understood—after all, Lin Kangsheng’s mother had passed away, and his father was neglectful. His in-laws helping out was already a big deal.

Seeing that Lin Nannan didn’t reject her, Zhou Cuiwei, after fussing over her granddaughter for a bit, took Lin Nannan’s hand and said, “We’ve fixed up your room. Let me show you. If there’s anything you don’t like or anything inconvenient, just tell me, and I’ll get your brothers to change it for you.”

Lin Nannan wasn’t picky about accommodations, especially when someone had put so much thought into it.

“This is already great. I’m only staying a couple of nights anyway,” she explained.

At these words, Zhou Cuiwei’s eyes welled up, thinking Lin Nannan didn’t want to stay longer.

“It’s not what you think. A Hang gets worried when the baby’s away. So once things here are settled, I’ll have to go back,” Lin Nannan clarified.

Zhou Cuiwei immediately nodded in agreement. “Yes, yes, having kids away is nerve-wracking. In the future, when you have time, stay a few more days—and bring A Hang along.”

Her eager, hopeful gaze made it impossible for Lin Nannan to refuse.

She gave a slight nod, which instantly brought a delighted smile to Zhou Cuiwei’s face.

Lin Nannan’s expression was complicated. Her joy was that easy to give.

All it took was a nod from her.
