Chapter 338
by 夏至三候Chapter 338
Straight to the Point
Jin Guizhi ended up making a fool of herself and went back to deal with her child.
Lin Nannan hurriedly followed Ah Si to the training ground, clueless about what was going on. Seeing people standing in small groups and a crowd gathered around the shooting range ahead, she knew Lu Hang was there and guessed why he had called for her.
When Ah Si led her in, all eyes turned toward her. Unfazed, she kept her gaze fixed on the man who stood out in the crowd and strode over.
"What's wrong?" she asked as she reached Lu Hang.
Upon seeing her, Lu Hang handed her the gun in his hand. "Take a look—what's the issue?"
Under the puzzled stares of everyone, Lin Nannan took the pistol, raised it, and fired a shot at the target without even checking the score. Frowning, she said, "The speed isn't fast enough. It feels a bit stiff."
Though the difference was minuscule, she could still sense it.
"Can it be fixed?" Lu Hang asked.
Lin Nannan glanced at the other guns laid out nearby, realizing they were all old. If they couldn’t be modified, their fate would be to be scrapped.
She nodded. "No problem."
"Mark the ones you need and set them aside. I’ll have someone find you a workshop to move them to later," Lu Hang instructed.
Lin Nannan gave a curt "Mm-hmm" and began testing each one. Hardly any passed muster.
The others watched in silence. Though her shooting stance seemed casual, the aura she gave off was so commanding that no one dared interrupt her.
Only after Lin Nannan finished testing, the faulty guns were taken away, and the couple had left did everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Who told me Commander Lu’s wife was lazy and disliked by everyone? That presence of hers is no less intimidating than Commander Lu’s!" someone muttered in annoyance.
"Right? The way she handled the gun had me too stunned to speak. No wonder Commander Lu protects her so fiercely—won’t even let her do laundry or cook!"
While some chatted about the gossip, others grew curious about Lin Nannan, wondering just how well she had shot with that imposing stance.
A few gathered around the target to check and found scattered shell casings—but only a single bullet hole. The sight left them stunned, struggling to process what they were seeing.
"This hole looks slightly bigger than the others. So... Commander Lu’s wife was hitting the exact same spot every time?" someone blurted, torn between disbelief and the undeniable evidence before them.
Everyone exchanged glances, forced to accept the truth.
After making arrangements, Lu Hang returned and overheard the discussions about his wife. After a moment’s thought, he said, "Tell your wives this: my wife doesn’t go looking for trouble, but if trouble comes to her, she ends it for good. And when that happens, I won’t be able to stop her—because I can’t beat her."
"You’re kidding!" The crowd refused to believe it.
Lu Hang’s skills were unquestionable. How could he possibly lose to his slender, seemingly fragile wife?
"I wouldn’t just make up nonsense to praise my wife," he said with complete seriousness.
Knowing Lu Hang’s character, no one doubted him—but they couldn’t help wondering just how strong Lin Nannan really was to take him down.
Driven by curiosity, the next day, they jumped at the chance to challenge Lin Nannan to a fight, hoping to test her limits.
Lin Nannan didn’t refuse. But short on time, she showed no mercy and made quick work of them.
That wasn’t all—she even suggested to Lu Hang afterward that these men were too weak, not half as strong as him.
Thus, the gluttons for punishment were directly pulled along by Lu Hang for intensified training.
The group was miserable as hell—not only had they poked the bear and got smacked, but their training was also doubled.
If they thought the matter ended there, they were dreaming.
Lin Nannan had been assigned tasks by Lu Hang, so she left early and returned late, working alongside him. But once the work was done, she came back ahead of time.
As soon as she reached the housing complex entrance, she saw Jin Guizhi hitting a child while cussing up a storm. The child, crying and running, kept whining Lin Nannan’s name.
This scene made Lin Nannan arch a brow. She hadn’t intended to interfere, but the moment the child spotted her, they immediately hid behind her. Seeing this, Jin Guizhi snarled through gritted teeth and roared, "Lin Nannan, not only did you ruin my daughter, now you’re trying to drive me to an early grave?"
The accusation made Lin Nannan sigh. She then turned to the girl and asked gently, "Did you tell your mom that you refused to cook because you learned it from me?"
Jin Guizhi’s daughter shot back instantly, "Yeah! You’re from the countryside too—why can you skate by, but I can’t?"
So, she was being sucked into this mess.
Lin Nannan nodded in agreement, then grinned and asked, "Then do you know why Commander Lu treats me so well even though I don’t cook or do laundry?"
"Why?" The girl looked curious.
Not just her—the other military wives were equally eager to know what made Lin Nannan so exceptional that Lu Hang had her back like this.
Lin Nannan glanced around and spotted a wooden stump pressed down in the vegetable garden ahead. Raising her voice, she asked, "Whose is this? Lend it to me—Commander Lu will return you a new one later!"
"It’s mine. No problem, it’s just a stump—go ahead and use it!" a petite woman replied with a smile.
Lin Nannan nodded in acknowledgment, then put her whole weight into it and slammed her foot down on the stump. The solid wood instantly split into pieces, sending the onlookers into shock, unable to recover for a long moment.
"See? When you can do what I just did, then you can copy me. After all, if I’m unhappy, I can even give Commander Lu a hard time. But if you can’t learn this, then others will be the ones giving you trouble." Lin Nannan spoke earnestly, not caring whether the girl had schemed against her—she never liked sugarcoating things when things could be settled directly.
Jin Guizhi’s daughter turned pale with fright, staring at her mother on the verge of bawling.
She was too scared to even cry.
"Alright, I’ve taught you the method. How you learn it is up to you." With that, she casually strolled upstairs.
The moment she entered her home and closed the door, the crowd downstairs went nuts.
"My god, did she really break that with her foot?"
Jin Guizhi’s expression shifted, and she backpedaled weakly, "That can’t be… Maybe the stump was already rotten from years of sun and rain, and she just tricked us."
Xiao Pei stepped out and shot back, "That stump was brought here by my husband just two days ago. If you think it was rotten, why don’t you try breaking the pieces yourself?"
Jin Guizhi didn’t try, but someone else picked up a piece and found the wood solid and unbroken.
"She’s really that strong!" Realizing they had spoken ill of her before, they all started sweating bullets, fearing they might get beaten next.
