"It's okay, don't be afraid!" Lin Nannan immediately stepped forward to comfort Jiang Qianqian, who was badly frightened. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone peeking furtively from the door of the adjacent room, realizing that many had been terrified by what had just happened.

Jiang Qianqian clutched the food she was carrying tightly. After being led inside by Lin Nannan, she turned deathly pale at the sight of the lifeless body on the floor, shaking violently.

Zhang Xiaofeng was extremely dizzy but, seeing how frightened Jiang Qianqian was, managed to reach out despite her condition. "Qian Qian, come over here to your aunt."

Jiang Qianqian walked over, her fingers pale from gripping the food too tightly, and placed it on the table. Then, with her heart racing, she asked, "What happened? Who is this person? Why are they here?"

"They came to take revenge on your cousin," Lin Nannan put it simply.

"What?!" Jiang Qianqian inhaled sharply, unable to believe it. "How could that be? Brother A Hang is already in this condition. Who would still want revenge? Are they insane?"

Lin Nannan and Lu Hang thought the same as Jiang Qianqian—some people truly had lost their minds.

A clear conscience fears no midnight knock, but some were terrified of Lu Hang appearing before others, afraid that even the slightest clue might expose their misdeeds. That was why they sought to wipe him out completely.

"Thank goodness Nan Nan came back. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable," Zhang Xiaofeng said, looking at the chaos around her, shaken by what might have been.

She wouldn’t have minded if something happened to her, but if Lu Ming had been harmed, she could never have died in peace.

If Lu Ming had been hurt, the entire Lu family would truly have been finished.

"My sister-in-law had a bad feeling and rushed back in a hurry," Jiang Qianqian explained.

Zhang Xiaofeng was surprised, but before she could ask, Lin Nannan explained clearly how Feng Wu had deliberately set a trap for Jiang Qianqian.

"Qian Qian thought Feng Wu’s money was suspicious, and I felt he was deliberately waiting for us. That’s why I sensed something was wrong and immediately turned back. Thankfully, I made it in time," she said, still shaken by how close it was. She patted her chest.

"If anything had happened to them, I would never have forgiven myself."

"Those damned bastards! For a bit of money, they’ve lost all humanity," Zhang Xiaofeng cursed a few times before her dizziness worsened. She found some relief only by closing her eyes and lying still.

Lin Nannan checked her over and said, "Mom took a serious blow to the head—probably a concussion. She'll have dizziness for days."

"I’m fine!" Zhang Xiaofeng insisted, eyes still closed. "Let’s just hurry back."

Staying here made her anxious.

"Mom, just rest for now. This won't be resolved anytime soon," Lu Hang said calmly.

Indeed, this incident was too complex to resolve quickly.

Lu Fang found A Zhang and also met Zhang Shengguo. Upon hearing that the Lu family had nearly been attacked, Zhang Shengguo slammed his hand on the table and roared, "Lawless!" He then immediately reported the matter to his superiors.
