Chapter 661

Settling Matters
"So, from the very beginning, you meant to adjust their physical condition, and there was never any personal grudge, right?" Yu Yao felt like a joke and couldn't help but ask through gritted teeth.
Given this outcome, if he continued to keep Lu Hang detained or go after Lin Nannan, not only would Political Commissar Chen and the others object, but even Qian Jun and the others who had received her care would refuse to accept it. Despite all his efforts, he would ultimately have to release Lu Hang.
Yet, he remained unwilling to accept it, feeling that he had been tricked by Lin Nannan—that she had deliberately schemed against him.
Lin Nannan looked at him innocently. "What kind of grudge do I have? Even if I were angry, I would never target soldiers protecting our homeland. Besides, Lu Hang is also a soldier. If I were deliberately seeking revenge, the person I would wrong the most would be Lu Hang."
"Well said!" At that moment, applause sounded. Everyone turned to see a man in military uniform with gray at the temples walking over, followed closely by Lu Hang.
All those present saluted the newcomer, except for Lin Nannan, who stood out.
"You're remarkable, always considering the well-being of our soldiers. You're much better than certain people." The man gestured for everyone to lower their salutes, then walked up to Lin Nannan and praised her before asking, "Are those healing methods of yours applicable to anyone?"
Regardless of anything else, such techniques could potentially give seriously ill soldiers more years.
Not knowing who he was, and with no one introducing him, Lin Nannan replied directly, "These methods aren't something just anyone can learn. What I can do is very limited."
She didn't answer his question directly but instead made it clear that not everyone could master these techniques.
"If you don't share the knowledge, how can anyone learn?" Yu Yao said discontentedly.
Lin Nannan stared at him and said, "Anyone who wants to learn must first be able to beat these soldiers. Only then will it be effective."
Did he really think everything was easy to learn? Without her use of spiritual energy, the results wouldn't have been nearly as impressive. If someone wanted to play the hero, they could do it themselves—she wasn't going to indulge them.
Upon hearing that one needed to defeat these soldiers to make the treatment effective, everyone quickly abandoned the idea.
One Lin Nannan was enough. Having another person capable of overpowering them would really hurt morale.
"Comrade Lin Nannan, we previously discussed with Political Commissar Chen that you could train with the soldiers. As for those baseless accusations, we will give you a proper explanation. You can rest assured." With these words, the man made his stance clear, bringing smiles to everyone's faces—except Yu Yao's.
In the end, Lu Hang was released, while Yu Yao, Political Commissar Chen, and the others left with the senior officer, evidently to conduct a thorough investigation of the matter.
"Were you mistreated?" Lin Nannan asked worriedly as soon as she saw Lu Hang.
Lu Hang shook his head. "With Political Commissar Chen and the others around, I was fine."
"That's good," Lin Nannan breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as she began to relax, the soldiers who had been defeated by Qian Jun and the others swarmed around her, clamoring loudly, "Sis-in-law, you can't play favorites like this!"
"Yeah, Sis-in-law, you're too biased! Why do they get all the benefits while we get nothing?"
"Exactly, Sis-in-law! You can hit us however you want, just don't leave us out!"
The pitiful scene was hard to watch, making Lin Nannan wonder if she had stumbled into the wrong place.
"Enough! All of you, get back to training. Stop pestering my wife." Lu Hang cut off their requests and began shooing them away.
The others left reluctantly, while Qian Jun and his group thanked Lin Nannan before leaving.
